Beethoven and Rachmaninoff—Leon Fleisher Conducts the Frost Symphony Orchestra- October 4

Festival Miami celebrates its 29th continuous season with a dramatic opening night concert featuring distinguished master artist Leon Fleisher conducting the Frost Symphony Orchestra.  The virtuosic program ranges from Ludwig von Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture based on a tragic tale of Roman conquest to Sergei Rachmaninoff’s sweeping Symphony No. 2 evocative of the composer’s flight from his Russian homeland, reflection and resolution. The concert will also feature contest winner Anastasiya Naplekova, a current Frost School of Music student, who will be playing Beethoven 4th Concerto.
