Bird Road Art Walk- March 17

The artists of the Bird Road Art District (BRAD) host an art walk the third Saturday of each month. 7-10 p.m.

Located just off the Palmetto Expressway between Bird Road (SW 40 Street) and SW 48 Street, you will find a thriving community of more than thirty artists' studios, art galleries, art schools, a live theater group called Akuara Teatro and Speak!, a stage for spoken word that happens every Friday night.

Today the Bird Road Art District continues to attract artists and is home to emerging and well established artists' studios working in a variety of media and disciplines as well as a mix of art schools, a quaint retail section and professional offices all blended to create one of Miami's more unique communities.

Jazz in the Gardens Music Festival- March 17-18

The lucky 7th year of the two-day Jazz in the Gardens music festival returns to Miami Gardens with an incredible lineup sure to put the audience at Sun Life Stadium on their feet. Beginning Saturday, March 17, 2012, "Jazz in the Gardens" attendees will be treated to exhilarating performances by Jill Scott, Kem, Ledisi, Doug E Fresh and Ramsey Lewis. The Sunday, March 18, 2012 lineup will feature the incomparable voices of Mary J Blige, Patti LaBelle and Nicole Henry as well as the smooth instrumental sounds of Kenny G and Kevin Eubanks.
