One of Venezuela's premier contemporary vocalist, Maria interprets her music in English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, and performs her own blend of traditional jazz standards as well as music and lyrics she has composed herself. Her unique sound is an intoxicating combination of indigenous, Caribbean, European, and African strains, with just the right splash of Brazilian and Latin jazz. Since 1990, Maria has recorded a total of 8 albums, where her most recent hit the Number 1 spot on the "Billboard" Venezuelan charts and stayed strong on the Top 10 for almost a year.
