 This year, Miami
Art Museum is pleased to present New Work Miami 2013, the second
iteration of the highly successful New Work Miami 2010. Like the
inaugural edition, this exhibition is conceived as a salute to Miami's
community of artists. It will include a number of newly commissioned
projects and special programs. Miami Art Museum will celebrate the
opening of New Work Miami 2013 during Party on the Plaza, the museum's
signature Art Basel Miami Beach event. Since this will be the museum's
last exhibition in its current building at 101 West Flagler, it will
symbolically initiate the final countdown to MAM's momentous reopening
in the fall of 2013 at the new, Herzog & de Meuron-designed facility
that is currently under construction in Museum Park. New Work Miami
2013 is organized by Miami Art Museum and co-curated by MAM Associate
Curators René Morales and Diana Nawi. Support is provided by Nedra and
Mark Oren.
