Miami Underwater Festival- December 1-2, 2012
Dive deeper.
Immerse yourself in everything underwater! Miami Science Museum will
host the 2nd annual Miami Underwater Festival, in partnership with the
Festival Mondiale de l'Image Sous-Marines (World Festival of Underwater
Images), from France. We will highlight a selection of prize-winning
films from the 38th year of this festival. The films will be in French,
English, and/or Spanish. On Saturday morning as part of French Week and
in collaboration with the French Consulate, we will have a French
Breakfast that will showcase French films. In addition, we will have a
COSEE/NSF sponsored event on Saturday evening that is open to the public
(with reservation) that will showcase films from the Beneath the Waves
Film Festival founded by local graduate students from RSMAS. Other
activities will include a special airing of a film by Ted Caplow (Fish
Navy Films), special guest speakers, fish throughout the lobby,
marine-themed kid-friendly activities, a lion fish cook off (possibly
with a special celebrity chef), and much more!
