Pianist Mike Levine is a man of many talents whose career is a blend of different aspects of music. He attended the University of Miami where he studied piano with Vince Maggio. It was at UM, that Mike formed a group with Billy Ross.  They released their first album “That Summer Something” in 1981, which featured Pat Metheny as a guest artist. Mike wrote the majority of the bands compositions.  The recording earned national recognition for them and stayed on the top ten contemporary Jazz (AOR) charts for six weeks.  Subsequently they recorded “Humidity” which also did well.  The Ross-Levine Band was the opening act for Michael Franks, Gato Barbieri, Dionne Warwick, and many others.

Live Music at Avenue D Lounge featuring Markus Gottschlich Quartet- February 1, 2013

After graduating from Western Connecticut University, he moved to South Florida to enter into an in-depth study and mentorship with legendary pianist Michael Gerber. 
It is a testament to his deft skill and strength of vision that Markus attracted internationally acclaimed artists to his new project, among them Grammy winners Jose Javier Freire and Federico Britos. The new album, produced at the esteemed Idee und Klang Studio in Basel, Switzerland, was released in Autumn 2012, with a promotional schedule to be announced soon.

Live Music at Avenue D Lounge featuring Nick Tannura Quartet- January 26, 2013

9:00pm The Nick Tannura Quartet: A Tribute to Wes Montgomery!

Nick Tannura is originally from Chicago, and has been playing music his entire life, but began playing guitar when he was 12.  After starting with rock, and other popular music, Nick gradually developed an appreciation for jazz and blues music and gained a deeper understanding of the popular music that originally inspired him to become a musician. While living in Chicago, Nick studied for several years with jazz great Henry Johnson, and was awarded the guitar position in the Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Band. After being awarded a full scholarship to attend the University of Miami, Nick continued his jazz studies with Randall Dollahan, a veteran of the Miami music scene.

9:00pm Victor Martinez Live at Avenue D!

Victor Martinez's range of musical influences span the entire spectrum of genres. His earliest influences were inspired by his Cuban upbringing. He discovered artists such as Beny More, Willy Chirino, the late Celia Cruz, and Los Munequitos de Matanzas. He also discovered a passion for R&B artists of the 90's such as D'Angelo. After completing his A.A. at MDC as the Honours Graduate of the music department, Victor was accepted into the prestigous Jazz Guitar department at the University of North Florida. Were he  studied for three years under Jazz Guitar virtuoso Barry Greene. Victor is also completing the compositions for his upcoming trio album in 2013.

Excellent musician and performer Johnny Holliday serenades audiences once again with his unique renditions of popular songs and his own original music.
