Explore Oceangate's S101 Submarine- until August 12

Dive into the science of submarines by exploring the S101, a real submarine on display at the Miami Science Museum courtesy of the OceanGate Foundation! The S101 is one of the earliest diesel-electric subs ever constructed. Built in England it has had an interesting history; it’s been tested by the Swedish navy, owned at one point by an environmental group who painted it like an orca to chase whales away from whalers (which they never actually did), and then purchased by a private owner who improved its mechanics and dove it 35 times exploring Lake Washington and Puget Sound.
