The Adrienne Arsht Center of the Performing Arts in Miami is one of the world’s leading venues and organizations for performing arts. The Center is home to the Florida Grand Opera, Miami City Ballet, America’s Orchestral Academy, and the New World Symphony. The Arsht Center prides itself in showing innovative programming, corresponding to South Florida’s diversity, and is a host to impactful community education and outreach initiatives. The venue seats 2400 in the Ziff Ballet Opera House, 2200 in the Knight Concert Hall, and is also comprised of the black box Carnival Studio Theater, a restored Carnival Tower, and the Peacock Foundation Studio and Education Center.



The feature of this year’s 8th annual Flamenco Festival will be led by flamenco’s reigning queen, Sara Baras. Sara Baras is known for her captivating stage presence and has been an internationally famous, awarded dancer for more than 20 years. The Sara Baras dance company, the premiere flamenco dance company in the world, will be performing a show with vibrant, modern choreography, mixed with traditional flamenco, set to thrilling, live scores by magnificent flamenco musicians. The show is sure to capture all the passion, emotion, and drama of flamenco.

Flamenco Festival Miami returns for a sixth glorious season of world-class flamenco dance and music with Spain's massively popular Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, coming to Miami for the first time direct from the land where flamenco was born!

This renowned company includes 18 dancers, singers and musicians, directed by the award-wining Flamenco star, Ruben Olmo. The company presents the Miami premiere of a new evening-length work Metáfora, a dazzling kaleidoscope of castanets, fans, traditional flamenco "bata de cola" dresses, effervescent heel-and-toe step combinations, demanding technique and jaw-dropping athleticism.

Furio de Flamenco 1/13/12

Flamenco Fury explores and celebrates the relation of Flamenco to the poets and folkloric traditions of the Andalusian people. This lively, energetic and colorful show unveils connections between Flamenco and the popular folkloric songs that animate Andalusian life. Lyrics written by poets Federico Garcia Lorca, Antonio Machado and Rafael Alberti are set to original music by Paco Fonta and original choreography by Celia Fonta. Siempre Flamenco Company will be joined by guest Guitarist Jose Cortes, "Pansequito" and renowned Flamenco Singer Manuel Palacin. The power of traditional Flamenco, together with the soulful expression of Spanish folklore, promises an unforgettable evening reaffirming the relevance of artistic tradition in the modern world.Flamenco Fury explores and celebrates the relation of Flamenco to the poets and folkloric traditions of the Andalusian people.
