Fete de la Musique- December 21, 2013

A live music celebration in the streets, public areas, restaurants and cafes by amateur and professional musicians during the longest day of the year and first day of summer, the summer solstice and the first day of winter, the shortest day of the year. People wander from place to place and enjoy a night of free music of all styles from classical to funk, R&B, rock, blues, jazz and more.
    
The Fete de la Musique, thought up by an American musician in 1976 to build peace by the means of music, first took place in Paris / France in 1982, and is now celebrated world-wide in more than 450 cities in over 100 countries.
     Fete de la Musique Coconut Grove is always celebrated on the 21st of June and the 21st of December.

Aaron Lebos Reality- Jazz at MOCA- November 29, 2013

The popular Jazz at MOCA series presents free outdoor concerts on the last Friday of every month. Music starts at 8 p.m. The museum is open from 7 to 10 p.m. by donation.

The Aaron Lebos Reality is a powerful, all original music group from Miami, Fl. The music encompasses styles of Jazz, Funk, Rock, R’n'B, Latin and World Music.
The musicians in the group have been friends and played together for years in various groups but joined together in early 2012 for a new project with a new sound and magic happened instantly. The music is written by Aaron Lebos and arranged by all the members in the group, who on their own are some of the most in demand musicians in South Florida and beyond.

Nayda Collazo-Llorens: Pleasure, Fear and the Pursuit of Happiness- until November 3, 2013

A public textual intervention consisting of text bubbles throughout the walking paths of the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. Collazo-Llorens' works are based on thoughts and memories, both real and invented, collected from Miami Beach locals and visitors. The text was collected by completing on-site questionnaires, informal surveys and casual conversations in and around Miami Beach. Pedestrians will experience the narrative by participating in an open-ended journey, a textscape or mental mapping to accompany them as they walk the gardens.
