Arnold Mesches (b. 1923, Bronx, NY) has held 132 solo exhibitions to date. The retrospective exhibition ARNOLD MESCHES: A LIFES WORK at Miami Dade College’s Museum of Art + Design, commemorates his 90th birthday and will feature over 65 works from many of the 14 series completed. Curated by Kim Levin, respected art critic, curator, writer and former regular contributor to The Village Voice (1983-2006), A LIFES WORK promises to be Mesches’ most intense, and perhaps the most inclusive, retrospective, beginning with a 1945 painting - the 1st piece ever exhibited.
Accompanying catalog published by the University Press of Florida with essays by artist, academic, and critic, Robert Storr; aurator Lowery Sims, and noted art historian, Peter Selz. Edited by Arnold Mesches award winning novelist wife, Jill Ciment and designed by Connie Hwang Design.
