The program will feature MCB students, from beginning-intermediate through advanced, performing original jazz pieces choreographed by faculty members Rafi Maldonado-Lopez and Liz Malm. Miami City Ballet: Annual Student Showcase- 5/18-5/20

The program features advanced students from the Miami City Ballet School performing George Balanchine's masterwork Serenade with music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Serenade in C Major for String Orchestra), Balanchine's Élégie (from Tschaikovsky Suite No. 3), excerpts from August Bournonville's Pas de la Vestale and original works by MCB School faculty. Friday at 7p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Program III brings to the stage Giselle, the quintessential 19th-century romantic ballet – telling the story of a young peasant girl betrayed by her disguised aristocratic lover.

Miami City Ballet - January 6-8th

Miami City Ballet: Program II- the highlight of Program II is a still-to-be-named World-Premiere ballet by Liam Scarlett, The Royal Ballet of London’s most successful young choreographer. He has accepted a commission from Miami City Ballet to create his first work for an American company. Also on this program are In the Night, Jerome Robbins’ valentine to love, experienced through three glamorous pas de deux, danced against a star-studded night sky to Chopin’s ravishing piano music, and Ballet Imperial, a Balanchine masterpiece.
