Description:

Local legend, Bob Ingram, performs under the moonlit sky of Coconut Grove. Bring a blanket; bring a picnic; bring your friends.

Ingram, a Coconut Grove native, was the cornerstone of the flourishing folk scene there through out the 1960s and 70s. Aside from performing around the Miami area for over four decades, he has either owned or operated several coffeehouses in South Florida including “Café Catacomb" in Fort Lauderdale and "Gaslight South" in the Grove. Ingram has performed with Neil Young, David Crosby, Jimmy Buffett, Vince Martin, Fred Neil and many others. Today, his show offers a rare opportunity to experience a true Florida original.
Gates open at 6pm; music from 7-9pm. No pets please.

Fees: Admission is $7 for ages 10 and up and $3 for ages 6-9. Children under age 6 are free.

Mad Hatter Arts Festival- November 17-18, 2012

The Mad Hatter Arts Festival returns for an 8^th season at The Barnacle and along the sidewalks of Main Highway. This juried event features artists of all types of media.


As always, music is a highlight of the Mad Hatter, plus there is a participatory drum circle, various hat contests to enter, and activities for kids of all ages. Food will be available for purchase from The Barnacle Society's concession stand or grab a map and venture out on Beyond the Looking Glass Grove Adventure for drinks and treats at participating restaurants and eateries. Return with a picnic to The Barnacle on Saturday evening when the gates open at 6pm for a showing of the classic, Alice in Wonderland. Movie begins at 7pm with no entry after 7:15. Movie tickets are $5 per person for ages 6 and over; $3 for ages 2-5; and free for ages under 2.

Barnacle Under the Moonlight Deblois Milledge- November 9, 2012

Description:

With a background in many different forms of American roots music, Deblois Milledge is singer/songwriter with a unique sound. Coconut Grove is in for a special musical treat because DeBlois Milledge sings a great range of songs, a random sample might include covers of Michael Jackson, Emmylou Harris, and Sheryl Crow. She composes her own music as well, and plays acoustic guitar. She has four original albums, and her compositions Don't Blink, and South of Okeechobee are featured in the PBS documentary “Escape to Dreamland” about the history of the legendary Tamiami Trail. Her endearing stories and songs will ring in the fall season, don't miss out! This is the only chance to see DeBlois perform in South Florida this year. Cars & Cigars - Father's Day Celebration- June 17

Classic cars grace the grounds of The Barnacle Historic State Park. Father’s Day festivities are free with regular $2 park admission; children under age six are free. Freshly-rolled cigars are free to event attendees who present a $20 proof of purchase from any Coconut Grove retailer or eatery. Bring your own picnic or purchase hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, chips, and soft drinks from The Barnacle Society at The Barnacle’s Micco Pavilion. Kids can craft a gift for Dad beneath the shade of the nearby seagrape tree. The celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
