This exhibition will explore, for the
first time, the rich visual dialogue that exists between artworks
produced by artists working in North, Central and South America during
the modern and postmodern eras. Rather than perpetuating a U.S.-centric
hegemony, which tends to diminish works of art produced by Latin
American artists, this exhibition will analyze how Pan-American artistic
exchanges processes - rather than stylistic transmission - construct a
fuller understanding of modernism as an international phenomenon.
