MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Sleepless Night Miami Beach begins at 5:30 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Catalina Hotel and Beach Club, the official host hotel of Sleepless Night, and ending with a beachfront sunrise breakfast courtesy of Whole Foods Market, the 13-hour cultural marathon features an eclectic mix of more than 150 local and international artists ranging from trapeze artists, symphonies, theater and dance groups, music concerts, architectural tours, museum exhibitions and much more at various sites across Miami Beach. All events are free to the public.
For Sleepless Night Miami Beach, the city is divided into four zones: North Beach, Collins Park, Lincoln Road and City Center, and Ocean Drive to Washington Avenue. Complimentary shuttle buses will transport attendees between the zones.
Short film director Christopher Flach, who delighted riders with his work during the 2007 and 2009 installations of Sleepless Night Miami Beach, is back by popular demand. He will be featuring his 2011 films – “Lost Moment,” “2012,” and “The Sneeze” – which were screened at Brooklyn Short Film Festival, Los Angeles International Underground Film Festival and the Coney Island Film Festival.
