The 7th Annual All Kids Included Family Arts Festival provides a full day in May of activities and cultural experiences for children with and without disabilities. The annual festival draws kids and families from across Miami-Dade County for a day of live entertainment, interactive arts activities and community resources for parents. Each component of the festival is designed to be accessible, utilizing technology such as Braille, guided tours, and ASL interpretation.
Highlights of this year's festival include: Spencers Theatre of Illusion, a spectacular large-scale magic show; Page Turner Adventures with Riley Roam as the "World Famous Storyologist" and former Ringling Bros. clown Kenny Mikey, as her bumbling assistant; "Zot Artz-Arts for All" adaptive painting and printmaking with special guest artist/inventor Dwayne Szot and Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces.
A special outdoor stage sponsored by Culture Shock Miami will feature: Nuttin' Butta Sandwich children's band; Teen DJs from P.A.T.H. - Preserving, Archiving, & Teaching Hip Hop, Inc; 21s Century Steel Band and local schools and performing arts groups.
And there is more: dancers, musicians, theater shows, John Paul Jebian, American Sign Language Storyteller, free give-aways, fun food, Saber Tooth Slide, rock wall, strolling entertainers, costumed characters, balloon artists and face painters.
Take a look at the Going To The Show guide for helpful information about attending performances. http://www.miamidadearts.org/artskidsmiami.aspx
This event will offer accessible accommodations for individuals with Sensory Processing Disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The theater will provide modifications to sound and lighting, noise canceling headsets, a quiet room with remote viewing of the main stage performance, and a special pre-show guide to preparing new audiences for a live theater experience.
It is the policy of Miami-Dade County to comply with all of the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
