Food Truck Night at Tropical Park- March 1st

Beautiful park landscapes and music set the vibe as you mix, mingle and enjoy affordable gourmet delights served up by the wildly popular food truck chefs. There are food choices galore with everything from Cuban influenced burgers and Asian-style chicken wings to deep fried Oreos to chow on. Patrons are invited to bring along a picnic blanket, or folding tables and chairs to enhance their dining experience. Glass containers and pets are not permitted. 6-10 p.m.

19th Annual 9 Mile Music Festival- March 3rd

The Coalition of Florida Farmworker Organizations COFFO’s Harvest Farmers’ Market supports local farmers. It features local fresh-from-the farm harvested daily, fruits, vegetables, strawberries, beans, sweet onions, squash, cabbage, herbs, and organic produce. It takes place in Florida City, in the heart of South Florida’s agricultural area. Take Turnpike exit 1 North, go west four blocks and it will be on the right hand side. Every Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Vintage Day Celebration- March 3

Come experience Everglades history at the 2nd annual Vintage Day Celebration on Saturday March 3rd, 2012 from 10 AM to 3 PM. Park admission at the Homestead entrance will be waived for the day and all activities are free of charge.Events include historical re-enactors, an old fashioned ice cream social and the Guardians of the Everglades exhibit.This is a great opportunity for young and old to interact with the characters that molded Everglades National Park into one of the most biologically and culturally diverse parks in the world.
       At the Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center celebrate the opening of Nicholas Petrucci's multi-media exhibition featuring life-size oil portraits of Everglades advocates and heroes.Portraits of Miccosukee Chairman Buffalo Tiger, Gladesman Franklin Adams, Photographer Clyde Butcher and Statesman Nathaniel Reed will be on display against a backdrop of Connie Bransilver's paintings of endangered native orchids.

Downtown Harvest Market- March 2nd

Miami-Dade County hosts a Downtown Harvest Market every Friday, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Residents and visitors have the opportunity to purchase seasonal produce directly from Miami-Dade growers, handmade artisanal foods and crafts, green products, healing arts and plants, and more.
